I was a bit nervous to read this book since Douglas Adams was not the author. At first, I wasn’t even going to read it, but the ending of Mostly Harmless, the last book by Adams, left me too depressed that I figured it couldn’t get worse.

I must say that I enjoyed this book almost as much as I enjoyed the other books in the series. The writing style is very similar so the transition was about as smooth as it possibly could have been. The characters all stayed true to themselves and the story progressed in a manner I can approve of.

Two things I have to say I didn’t like, however.

I did not like how many “Guide Notes” were included in the book. Although these little side stories or references were supposed to be funny, I just found them to be distracting. They took away from the main story and I found myself zoning out when reading those snippets.

The second part I did not like: the ending. I don’t like unhappy endings and I don’t like endings that leave me hanging or guessing. This had both. I suppose I’ll just have to suck it up and come up with my own crazy ending where everyone gets what they want.

The book was good. The series was good. If you like odd, out-there stories then be sure to pick this one up. It’s a classic.

But then Kaitlin suggested I try it. She showed me the stuff she had pinned and it did look kinda interesting so I decided I’d join.

I like browsing through the categories, especially the Geek and Food and Drink ones. It’s pretty cool to have so many different likes all in one place. I have yet to pin something to Pinterest but just you wait, it’ll come! There’s so much to explore, you can stay busy for quite a while on here.

I do have a few complaints with the site though. First, you are required to join via your Facebook or your Twitter account. A site like that earns a strike right away.

Second, I don’t like the layout in regards to locating who follows you and in searching for people. I know that’s not the main part of the site but it does seem like a major part: friends. It should be much easier to move around.

The site has potential and if nothing else it’s fun to look at all the pretty pictures!

My parents got me Sims 3 for Christmas this year. I have been wanting the game since it came out years ago. Now I have it! I just spent like 2 hours playing the game, which is amazing because usually I can only last an hour max playing anything.

I like it because it’s a game that I can’t really lose. It’s full of little goals so I feel like I’m still accomplishing something even though Sims isn’t a “real” video game. Plus, I can vicariously live through my Sim. She earns a raise? It’s like I earn a raise, yay!

It is a bit interesting, however, how my Sim’s life is all about going to work, cleaning, eating, and sleeping and doing fun things here and there if there’s free time.  Sounds a lot like my life.

Either way, I enjoy the game and am glad I finally have it!

I am a pretty big dessert person, so this time of year is a great time for me!

Tathian, character in SWTOR

Haven’t played much (like 10 minutes so far) but what I have played, my character has been bad-ass. Love the green skin, love the tattoos, love the hair. She’s just one awesome trooper.

I know that it may be difficult or frustrating to speak with someone who is not a native English speaker. I do understand that. But that does not mean you have to treat those people as if they are not people. Those people have feelings as well. Those people are people!

When someone makes a comment about foreigners, it makes Americans look bad. And it should make us look bad. It just annoys me so much how some of us treat others. If you’re having a difficult time understanding a customer service associate, ask if he/she can transfer you or if you can speak to a supervisor. Please be kind about it, these people are just doing their job.

It truly amazes me at how harsh and rude people are to me until I tell them I live in Washington. Then they instantly change to being friendly and receptive. That is not okay.

Last night we all got together and had a cookie exchange. It was so much fun (and delicious). Below is a picture of some of the goodies I brought home with me (many of the treats are already in my now enlarged stomach). Yay to friends who live less than 30 minutes away from me!

I need ideas as to why Gene should get his license. He probably won’t listen, but I can at least try making a list. His main concern is that driving costs money. And he is right. But I still think he should get over it and get his license! Who’s with me? How can I convince him that spending money on insurance, gas, and repairs is worth it?

I had seen Gene’s new Google+ profile picture and I wanted to make some changes to my own. So I opened up Google’s photo editor (might or might not still be called Picasa) and went at it! Bit disappointed that my entire head isn’t showing, otherwise I would have been wearing a nice Santa hat. Still happy with the turn out though!

I love how easy the program is to use and how great the program works. Thanks Google for making editing a photo fun!
