Moonrise Kingdom is a fantastical, magical adventure that I absolutely loved. The story follows a boy and girl as they experience love and an escapade into the wild. I enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters are exaggerated and sometimes a little “out there”, which makes the movie even better. You quickly connect to the two main characters and are soon hoping they sucked in their endeavor to escape the world. It is interspersed with funny and serious moments, and even times where you have to suspend reality for a minute. The movie flows at a steady pace and does not linger on anything for too long. The ending is perfect and very satisfying.
It’s a lighthearted, slightly strange, movie. If you’re up for something a bit different, watch Moonrise Kingdom and let me know how you liked it!
Great film! I am sad that it didn’t get an Oscar nomination. It was one of my favorite films of the year! I love Wes Anderson!
